I have received a bill from Premier Premium Communications for calls thought the web to a pay per view site. I have not made these calls personally but I have a virus known as 124837. Exe that dials out from my computer. If I leave my computer on and my modem wired to the phone system the program will kick of and attempt to dial out. A member of my household as actually witnessed an attempted dial out. Conceivably, it could also be connecting to a different number when I am using the net but I don't know for sure.
However, information from my phone company shows that the calls I'm being billed for were never made. I have not yet contemplated the full impact of that discrepancies but it screams FRAUD in my mind. I also believe that the existence of a virus points to fraud and it makes sense that those who would benefit would be the propagators of such a virus.
Additionally the company has a web site that is a sorry attempt to get people to believe they have to pay their bill without having any features that a real company would use a web site for, namely getting more business. Highly suspicious and smelling of FRAUD.
I urge everyone who encounters this to not send money to this company, spend your time, energy and money helping to track down the perpetrators. Additionally do not leave your computer on and connected to the web until you have cleaned up your computer and protected it against future invasions of this virus.
