Rip off! Dishonest! No business ethics! Horrible!
This was by far the worst experience I ever had with a 'business' in my life! What started out as good training turned into a nightmare.
Do not prepay marcus the trainer! He will take your money and run!
I have never met anyone more dishonest in my life! Initially training was very good and considering the $ 250 a week I paid him, quite appropriate (5 sessions a week). 3 weeks into the training with good progress, things started to become 'shady'. The first indication of 'flakiness' and utter dishonesty happened, when he did not respond to an appointment confirmation. After 2 txts and a call and a 'is everything ok', I finally received a 'yes'. No explanation, no apology, nothing else.
The following day I scheduled the usual appointment with Marcus. Later that day the same thing happened. No response, no explanation to what is going on. I was understandably getting irritated since I already had prepaid for the entire week and started to get worried! Yet I was being sympathetic, understanding that sometimes things do come up.
Was I wrong! The same thing happened with the 3rd missed appointment! The 4th session appointment was confirmed by Marcus. When I showed up at his gym-facility HE WASN'T EVEN THERE! Instead of him being there, his brother showed up. I never received any 'heads-up' and was never asked if that was ok with me. His brother, although very nice, is about 50 lbs overweight and had obviously very little/no personal training experience. This is not what I paid for!
The next day I expressed my feelings about all the missed appointments, not getting any explanation or apology whatsoever and then finally being 'trained' by his brother. Even after that he did not apologize!!!
At this point I had a pretty good idea what I was dealing with. I expressed that I paid 'great money' and was in fact a $1000 a month client, and told Marcus that this is not what I paid for and that I do not conduct business like that. I told him that I wanted to discontinue training and asked for a refund for all the 'flake-out' prepaid sessions.
I WAS TOLD THAT THE CONTRACT STATES 'NO REFUNDS' and basically telling me that I had lost all my money. Marcus told me that he did a great job 'training' me and I responded that it wasn't about the training, but about the flaking and canceling and the way he conducted business! He did not understand a single word I told him. Went in one ear, out the other.
Finally I was promised a refund and told it'd be in the mail the following week.
At the end of that week, surprise, surprise, nothing was in the mail. No refund, no check!
When asking him about it, Marcus dodged the question and blew me off by saying "I have to talk to my accountant and you will receive the refund next week".
Well, needless to say, it has been 3 weeks now and i still have not received a refund, but I did receive txts saying "you will get it tomorrow', plenty of those.
MARCUS is a good trainer, BUT UNFORTUNATELY A LIAR, A LOUSY BUSINESS PERSON AND EXTREMELY DISHONEST!
If you want to get ripped off by a trainer - go to bodyfit las vegas. People like marcus give 'personal training' the bad rep it has! And i am still waiting for my refund!!!
