Wellpoint Misleading Medicare Advantage Plan

Warning to seniors looking for medicare plan

Beware of caremore

This Medicare Advantage plan is misleading and exploits Seniors. It does not give you freedom of choice to see a provider or specialist and it only allows you to particiate with hospitals that they are affiliated with.

I have been affiliated with my doctor and the Banner Health system for over 10 years and never had a problem until I joined CareMore. The salesperson lied about the services and discounts and each time I was sent to one of the Banner Hospitals because of an emergency; CareMore rushed me out of there to one of the Abrazo hosptials which was absolutely horrible. They then transferred me to a rehab facility without giving me a choice for one day for what they said was therapy.

My husband has some health problems, However he was horrified when one of the CareMore doctors mentioned Hospice. He is not dying and we were deeply disturbed that hospice was mentioned. Even the nurse in the hospital questioned why my husband was referred to a hospice. My husband wasn't even given a choice of services.

CareMore does not give members freedom of choice and in my opinion, abuses Medicare benefits. They sent a Homecare Nurse to my home and she agreeded that she didn't know why CareMore sent her to me.

They ordered a walker and commode for me, and I have never had to use it.

The Care center was somewhat helpful because they helped my husband with monitoring his blood pressure, which could have been managed at his primary care doctor. The only person that I saw was helpful was the Nurse Practioner, However she is obviously over worked. The Medical assistants appeared to be laid back, some lacked professionalism and watch too much tv. I even seen them on their cell phones while it was obvious that some of us in the waiting area needed assistance.

Enrollment season is coming up in october. I urge seniors to stay away from caremore.

I was lucky to disenrolled from CareMore and plan to join a supplement plan. I am very happy to be able to now choose what hospital and doctor I want to go to.
