Private Workout has been peddling "bootcamp" and "gut buster" deals on Groupon and LivingSocial. I purchased a "gut buster" Groupon in March. I went to the Las Colinas facility for my first workout with a trainer who I must say was in worse shape than I was. I was bored with my gym routine and I was looking for something different. The "trainer" I met with quickly explained that I should trade in my Groupon for an even better program. Their practices are predatory. They tell you what is wrong with all other workout programs and explain that their program is the best and they guarantee results. This was the worst experience of my life. I tried to stick with it but the program is poorly designed. The trainers are not knowledgeable and they don't explain how their circuit is superior to others. They give you work out sheets that you complete after each set. There is barely enough time to log your reps before you have to move to the next machine. The program focuses on completing the arbitrary reps and not on prober exercise form. They do not keep track of the number of workouts you complete even though the number of workouts completed is a contract requirement.
After almost four months of me diligently working out 5 times a week I realized that the results promised were not going to be a reality. Their customer service is deplorable. They sell "different" programs that are essentially the same because it's the same circuit. You have to repeat the circuit over and over again with the only difference being the weights and the reps. You are essentially working out the same muscle groups in the exact same way day in and day out. I was very disappointed. Their program did not deliver what was promised and they refused to refund my membership fee. I was told via email that the only way I could stand a chance at getting a refund was if I sent them a letter via mail with some "good remarks" about the company. It's a ripoff. I believe there are more people out there that have been ripped off by Private Workout. Let's get together and make the company stop their predatory practices.
