I placed a phone order for a Vital Basics product called Focus Factor. It is a dietary supplement which claims to support memory, concentration and focus. The order was going to cost $60.00 per month which would be deducted from my Visa debit account begining March 1. On Feburary 24 Vital deducted $299.95 from my account. When I called them to inquire about the unauthorized charge, I was told it was for a health plan that I knew nothing about. When I told them I was not interested and demanded a return of my funds, they just gave me another sales pitch! I contacted VISA through my Credit Union and they immediatly deposited the $299.95 into my account because I was concerned about potential NSF charges for outstanding drafts. It took Vital Basics 7 days to restore my account.
I can't help but think that if I stole $299.95 from someone and held onto it for 7 days, I would be spending more time than that in JAIL!
Hurray for VISA - Shame on you Vital Basics!
