On 10/24 I paid Aqua Star of New York about $311. For three sessions of colon hydrotherapy. I completed the 2 first sessions satisfactorily. Then I confirmed my third one on Friday November 5th for Sunday, November 7th. On the 7th I was very sick with headache and dizziness (terrible dizziness). I live in NJ and the office of Aqua Start is in NY. My Husband was traveling that day, therefore i could not come in to my session, however, I called the office at 11:00 am which was supposed to be the starting of office hour. Nobody answered, but I left a message saying that unfortunatelly i could not come in due to my sickness. They did not call me back and I continued sick for the following 7-10 days. When I called back to re-schedule I was told that I lost the full amount ($100.00) because I did not cancelled 24 hours in advance as stated in their policy. I explained that getting sick is not predictable, if there could be anything done about it, but there is no exception to the rule, they said. I don't think this is fear, since my cause was involuntary and not predictable. If I would know I would be sick on Sunday I would cancel days in advance.
If I had lost 25% of the deposit that would be more acceptable, but losing the whole amount is just not fear.
I would like to know how can scalate my complaint to an organization that can do something about this incident and to make them review their policy in order to somehow protect the consumer. Also I would like to get 75% of my money back.
