I filed a rip off report awhile back and for some reason it's no longer up so I wanted to make sure I filed another one to keep anyone else who may want to go to this dentist to know NOT to go due to being advised to do things that you DON'T need to have done! Be VERY careful if you do decide to go because you WILL be told that you need things you truly don't need done. I was treated not only by Dr. Gentry Gonzalez but also by several other dentist' in this office.
I went to a dentist at this office by the name of Gentry Gonzalez and he had me keep coming back because he said that I needed to have several root canals. After having many root canals done he let me know that I needed to have teeth pulled and a bridge placed on it. After spending the amount of money I spent to have all the root canals done I let Dr. Gonzalez know that I would not be able to pay for the bridge anytime soon. He assured me that would be ok and to come back when I get the money. When I did in fact get the money and came back he made the impression for the permanent bridge and I came back to have that placed on. However, the next mistake he made was not cleaning the couple of teeth that where there before placing the permanent bridge on. I started having LOTS of trouble and decided to go to a friend of mine who is a great dentist. When I went to her I let her know that he had already done many root canals and that he placed the permanent bridge on the teeth that were left and that he also stated that I needed to have five more root canals done. When this new dentist took xrays she let me know quickly that I didn't have ONE root canal that was needed AND she said that I could have eaten a bag of snickers a day and I would not have as much decay under that permanent bridge as I did at that present time. She also let me know that this dentist should have to account for what he is doing to patients. I went and filed a investigation with the dental board and waited. Due to filing that report and due to me placing a rip off report on this site I was harrassed MANY times from Dr. Swicord's office. They would not give me my chart and when I finally went through all means (my attorney) to get my chart they only gave me bits and pieces of it. I was so tired of all the frustration that I just let everything go and had not one other thing to do with this office. Three years later (an actual week ago) I received an email from Dr. Gary Swicord about the post that was on here. He mentioned to me that because of my letter, to the dental board, that his insurance went up and he had to pay a fine. I was told in the email from Dr. Swicord that he would pay me $450 to settle this and to get this off of this site. The funny thing is when I told him that after me paying as much money as I paid out and him only offering $450 was pretty much a slap in my face and I told him that if your going to try and pay someone off you should at least offer half of what they originally paid, he declined my offer and said "goodbye". So I'm on here to let everyone know that this is NOT how business should be done. This is something that should not have happened in the first place. I'm dealing with MANY problems from all the unecessary root canals that were done and I'm dealing with still paying off a loan that had to be taken out to cover all the expenses. So if you choose to go to this office be aware and I would always suggest getting a second and even third opinion from other reputable dentist'. Dr. Swicord quickly let me know that this was not even his problem however this IS his dentist office and he had the power to make things right in the beginning and he did not.in his email to me he stated that this was a great dentist and because of my letter this dentist went through a lot of unecessary problems when in fact this dentist got exactly what he deserved for doing people wrong. It's nice to know that the board actually takes the complaints serious and if you have had any bad dealings with this office I would suggest going the route I did also. They need to not be operating if this is how they are going to treat patients. I will NEVER go to this office as long as I live! I hope this helps all of you out there who are thinking about using this dentist office. I'm sure I'll get a lot of backlash from Dr. Swicord's office but I truly don't care because I don't want to see others be put through what I've been put through.
