I spent $12,500 for a Ladies Workout Express and was told during Discovery Day that my location would be 'protected' (no other franchises sold there) until I had found a retail site and signed a lease. They allowed another franchise to go in two blocks from where we were looking (before I ever signed a lease).
I have spoken to over 40 franchisees and most are very unhappy with Lady of America. Their main complaint is after they sign their lease, Lady of America stops all support - phone calls not returned, emails not responded to, etc.
Most said they would never invest in LOA again!
In New Jersey, LOA allowed two franchises within several blocks of eachother. These two sites were approved by the same person at LOA!!! The 1-1/2 mile limit between franchises obviously doesn't mean a thing! I've heard the New Jersey franchisees are going to file a class action suit because of all the centers being opened on top of eachother.
In Ft Myers, they allowed a large center to go in just barely 1-1/2 miles from a existing new center. The existing center is now fighting for her life and probably will not survive.
I have requested a refund but I'm not holding my breath. Bill Landman truly has the 'used car salesman' mentality and I don't expect to ever hear from him. They want your money but don't support what they sell.
If you are thinking about purchasing a Lady of America franchise - DON'T DO IT!!!
