Better Bodies? How about better customer treatment?

I joined Better Bodies Colorado in January. There were other gyms out there, better gyms, but this gym offered a "points program". What the "points program" entailed was everytime you worked out, you recieved a certain amount of points to be used to purchase goods, services of even free yearly memberships. You received extra points for working out on holidays and even your birthday.
Like a lot of the members, I kept my points so if I decided I did not want to pay for my membership for a year or if I wanted to get some personal training or clothing I could.
I took off 6 months from working out, July to January. When I came back to working out I thought I would be getting my points. I was talking to another member in the end of January about my points and he told me that Better Bodies has done away with the points program. I asked when this occured and he said in August. He said that Better Bodies put a note on the front door advising patrons of the change. I never received a call or email stating there would be a change in the points program and to use or lose the points.
Shocked, I walked to a manager and asked about the points program. He verified that the program went away. I then asked about my points and if I could still redeem them. The manager said he did not know and to leave a message for Tracy, who is one of the owners of Better Bodies Colorado. I left a written message for Tracy, which I never received a response from. I then called and left a message again for Tracy, which she again never called back.
I filed a BBB complaint so I might be able to have my issue addressed. I eventually recieved a call from Cindy Lewis, who is an Office Manager. Cindy told me that due to "lack of participation" and the "economy" the points were done away with. Cindy went on to say that Better Bodies has instead gone to $10.00 a month memberships to "show appreciation" and to be known as the "$10.00 a month gym". I asked Cindy if I could then get out of my contract that I was paying and pay the lower fee. Cindy said that I could not as Professional Fitness has bought my contract. Cindy did say however when my contract expired, I could renew at the $10.00 a month rate.
Better Bodies Colorado eventually responded in writing to my BBB complaint with an incorrect statement to how I was feeling. I responded to the BBB with the true statements and again voiced my dissatisfaction with Better Bodies Colorado. Better Bodies Colorado then declined to resolve the issue and asked that the BBB close the case.
So what had Better Bodies Colorado offered to past loyal patrons? Nothing. Actually less because as the new members start out at $10.00 a month, I am still paying a higher rate until my contract runs out. I also think it is cheesy that Better Bodies would spit in the face of a patrons, especially one that has been paying money to them for over 5 years. Then to blame the economy and take away a perk with no compensation is in poor taste and poor character. I could see maybe if Better Bodies Colorado buys new equipment every couple of years, but I am still working out on all the same equipment since joining January. The equipment was even aging back then. Now when the cardio equipment breaks down, it goes away and does not get replaced. NOt to mention the other weight machines break down it seems like quite a bit and it takes a few days to get parts for it.
Needless to say, I will not be renewing my contract and will gladly give my business to a company that will strive to give customer satisfaction. Unlike Better Bodies Colorado.
