On October 1st, I ordered an ELISA blood test from
Better Control of Health DBA Optimum Health Resource Laboratories
419 South Federal Highway
Dania, Florida. 33004
(954) 924-5422
Cost: $379.00
This is a blood prick test for food sensitivities and included with the results was supposed to be a resource guidebook and a guarantee of 12 months of internet and telephone support. (Ha!)
They notified me a couple of days later saying my credit card info was incorrect (it was not) and that I needed to check out through Google checkout (which I rarely use and will NEVER use again). I thought that was odd but I did it.
Obviously, they use Google Checkout because Google Checkout will not help your credit card company dispute the charges, because the "goods" (a 5$ blood spot kit) were delivered. Never mind that they then drop you like a hot potato, don't send any test results, and won't respond to inquiries.
By the end of October, I had not gotten the test kit so I called and emailed and FINALLY they sent me a kit on October 28th. They said it was a replacement kit, but I never even got a shipping receipt on the one they said they were "replacing" so I am sure this was the first one they sent.
I immediately performed the blood test and sent it back but as of January 5th have received no results, nor can I contact them by phone or by email. I have tried on numerous occasions and they will not respond.
When I googled this, I saw that others have had the same experience, and Google Checkout will not pursue it because they say that the test kit was received. But it is obvious that the $379 was not just for a $5 test kit, but for the ANALYSIS of the blood spot. That is what I paid for and did not get.
I went to a doctor and had this same test run by a reputable lab. I got the results within a week. If they do ever send results, it will be interesting to compare them to the test I have already received results from.
Do not use this company! Funny thing, they have an "F" rating on the BBB site, and there is a glowing report on that site for this company from a girl named Kimberly.
On another site, there is a complaint from a customer who got a run-around similar to what I got, and below is a defensive response from an employee of this company, and she is also named KIMBERLY. Hmmmmmm...
