I read an article on the MSN home page about using two trial offer dental whitening products together to achieve very good results. The web addresses were listed in the article to order them - free product, you pay only shipping. The two products are Sparkle White and Celebrity Smile. I should have researched before ordering and made a point to read their Terms and Conditions but didn't. I noticed last evening that Sparkle White hit my bank account with a debit of $92.37 (POS PURCHASE AT MAQUI BERRY BURN PROVO UT showed up on my account). At first, I had no idea which company did this until I researched the internet. The Terms and Conditions for Sparkle White state:
By submitting your credit card information, you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions, as set forth: By sampling our product for shipping and handling charges of $3.76, you will be given a period of ten days, from the time you place the order, to decide if you want to continue using the product. Please allow several days to receive your product. You can cancel at any time during the ten day trial period by unsubscribing at our website at http://sparkle-white.com/help with no further obligations.in fact, you can keep the remainder of the trial product as our gift to you for trying this offer.in the event you do not cancel within ten days after you order your trial product, you will be automatically enrolled in our convenient home delivery plan and your credit card will be charged $92.38. Thereafter, 1 month from your initial order, you will be billed $92.38 every month when product is sent to you. Limit of one trial sample per household. If, at any time thereafter, you wish to cancel the convenient home delivery plan, you may unsubscribe at http://sparkle-white.com/help with no further obligations. Notice this sentence:
If you call after 10 days of your trial date and you have opened the product then you are not entitled to a refund for that product.
The Terms and Conditions go on... This is only the first few paragraphs.
The debit to pay the shipping for the trial product was 11-9 and the debit of $92.37 was 11-19. I realized it the evening of 11-20. Of course this is after hours for them and there is no way to contact them via email. I am dealing with this mess first thing, the morning of 11-21.
The Terms and Conditions for Celebrity Smile are similar (a debit of $64.98 - see Terms and Conditions http://www.getordersupport.com / would hit my bank account 14 days after the debit to pay the shipping for the trial product.) They do have an email address to send a cancellation to.
I called my bank this Saturday morning and I am waiting on a call back to let me know what I can do since this is an ACH (debit) transaction. I cannot call either company due to time zone differences - I have an hour before I can call Sparkle White and 2 hours before I can call Celebrity Smile. I intend to demand that Sparkle White reverse the charge and ensure there are not additional charges that will hit my bank account in the future. I will ensure that Celebrity Smile received my cancellation and that they do not hit my bank account with any charges. I will notify ripoff sites such as this one and the BBB for the states where they exist.
Buyer beware - I am an intelligent person but did not see the fine print at the time of order. It seems that you have to click on the Terms and Conditions link to see this information. Lesson learned for me... Hoping to share this with others so that you are not duped.
