We were with Mega/now HealthMarkets for years and then left them when we had insurance coverage for 2 years with a company I went to work for. We just reapplied eith HealthMarkets and they have denied me but not my husband. I haven't even been to the Dr. For over a year! If you have been to the Dr. At all don't waste your time, money or energy with applying. You have to pay the money upfront, they cash the check and then you have to wait until they send your money back.
If they deny you they will send the denial letter to the Dr. Office to put in your file.By doing that the letter is always in your file forever! This will keep you from getting insurance with another company. We are having an attorney look into this.
Just beware what you are getting into and when you cancel don't forget to cancel the association benefit plan!
