This doctor is a very rude and heartless person. My mom has ALWAYS had private insurance and if at one time or another she didn't, she would pay out of pocket because she could afford it at that time. My father lost his job and despite going from interview to interview, nobody would hire him. This went on for over a year. They almost lost their beautiful house they worked so hard for. My mom had health issues right before all this happened but with all the tension and stress of the financial situation (mainly the possibility of losing their home) my mom's health got worse. Due to this, my father had no choice and asked for medical assistance. My mom's PCP referred her to this doctor and my mom states that he was rude. This doctor told her "I don't treat Fibromyalgia" and my mom said "I am not here because of that". This is because she was sent there for pain she has been having due to herniated discs. The doctor told her "if I decide you need surgery" then my mom said "oh no" because this doctor was already saying this without first having sent her for preliminary tests. Why would he say that? First you do your tests then when you get the results you see what you can do for the patient! Well, he purposely said this to tell her that she is then wasting the tax payers money. My mom got up and told him "wait a minute! I have been in this country for almost 40 years and I have ALWAYS paid my taxes and this is the first time I have had to be on the Health Care District" but the doctor ignored this and kept talking about tax payers money. He is an absolute arrogant jerk! A doctor should treat his or her patient with respect despite of their insurance. He is stereotyping based on type of insurance and last name (spanish origin). My brother and I were both born and raised in the United States. OUR children were born and raised in the United States. We have ALWAYS worked hard just like our parents. Who is he to judge someone without knowing them?! WE are ALL taxpayers just like him and so many people that have needed assistance have used OUR very own tax money as well. If a person that is in a terrible financial situation and about to lose their home needs to see a doctor... What are they suppose to do? I think that this would be a justified situation. This doctor treats his patients in a very disrespectful manner. I am writing this because his bedside manners simply can't be ignored! I think the only reason he does this is because no one has ever complained! I understand that there are people who do unfairly use OUR tax money and I personally am against it! BUT as I said before, my parents have ALWAYS worked hard and have had private insurance. If at any time of their lives they didn't... Then they would pay out of their own pockets (including times when my brother and I were kids!) This doctor has NO RIGHT to offend and embarrass his patients. He is totally arrogant why? Because he judges and stereotypes without knowing anything about the person!
