Two words you need to know about UMP dental centres: x-ray fraud.
UMP dentists pretend to take x-rays and come back into the room shuffling some in their hands. They've charged you big-time for them but haven't actually taken any.
When they need to produce some for the already very corrupt dento-legal scenario going down in Hong Kong, they just substitute old x-rays sourced from a previous dentist-guy you once went to and / or digitally manipulate x-rays using Photoshop.
Watch out! UMP manipulate not only periapicals (small x-rays) but also OPGs. It's a big racket for UMP... And a lot of the dentists there in Hong Kong.
Personal injury lawyers know all this goes on and it's all part of the corruption. My older brother, whose teeth were wrecked wilfully and malevolently by UMP dentists, and I, couldn't find a Personal Injury lawyer who wasn't 'on the take' from the insurance companies, the Dental Protection Ltd and the Medical Protection Society, one a subsidiary of the other. We couldn't trust any of the PI lawyers, although one actually confirmed their 'double agent' status for us before he, and we, left Hong Kong permanently. Malaysian dentists are way better trained and much more trustworthy.
He also informed us of all the bogus dental malpractice 'expert' witnesses around the world who are actually in the paid service of the Dental Protection Ltd, the dentists' insurer, as a means of 'containing' dental malpractice and making negligence profitable for the legal and dental sector instead of vice versa.
The moral here is always videotape every visit to a Hong Kong dentist if you are stupid enough to go to one, don't agree to x-rays, if you do, then photograph / videotape every x-ray UMP dentists show you on a lightboard (as it will be too late to request them later if one of their typical malpractice stints goes on because they will have manipulated any original or substituted one) and always take a witness in to sit next to you in the dentist's chair and to watch everything that goes on very keenly. Get out of the chair and call the police if you suspect UMP dentists are doing anything suspicious.in most cases, they are and can damage your teeth withing 5-10 minutes while you think they are cleaning your teeth or trustng them to fill your teeth or some other seemingly straightforward dental procedure. They are experts at falsifying records, as well. Report them on www.usacomplaints.com.
The Dental Protection Ltd are UMP's very good friends and partners-in-crime. Don't expect any justice from the Dental Council of Hong Kong, the Health Department or the Insurance Commissioner as the medical insurance companies influence them too.
