I was seen for a leg buttocks lift consult 3 years ago. I weighted 127 lbs and 5'9 but, had sagging buttocks. I showed him a pic I needed extra lipo at the hips and my skin pulled up. I wanted a tighter rear end and was able to lift up 4 inches of skin. He assured me I was a perfect candidate (my BMI was 17). This surgery was painful and I had several infections from big blue sutures under my skin. He had to go in and remove some sutures and I told him that I was unhappy with my surgery and I was angry. It was very painful and now I had huge scars and a saggy butt, instead of just a saggy butt. He
put in his notes he would re-do the surgery but I had to wait.
Meanwhile, I quit smoking and was time for surgery. I re-evaluated wheather or not I wanted him to do the surgery because of various problems with him and follow=up. I found his surgical notes inadequate and he was not able to answer questions about the surgery, like how much fat he removed from were and it wasn't in the notes. My husband told me that I was in and out of surgery in less than two hours and the surgery should have taken much longer. When I went to the office, I asked the nurse for 3 people referrals who had satisfactory results and then I would have him re-do the surgery or give me a refund. The doc came in the room pissed (I interview people for a living) he kept on telling me it was due to weigh gain and kept repeating that I had gained weight, (funny but my butt was still sagging even after I gained weight). My BMI was only 19.8 then (a healthier weight than before) from smoking cessation. He kept repeating that and he kept repeating that I was going back to my home in florida. He told me he never said he would re-do my surgery (it is in his notes). He said in front of me, getting angry and lying to my face. He said come back and talk if you loose 20lbs. (come back when your underweight). They didn't provide me with the references. They never called to follow up. He should have offered a refund for the pain and suffering and his bad job.instead he tried to place the blame back on me. Most doctors would be happy to do surgery on someone my height weight and health and be happy over the smoking cessation.
It looks like a shark bite me in half. I lost feeling in my side and I am heaver and still saggy. Tight skin plus weight gain would equal even tighter skin. I have since heard bad things about Dr. Wilcox in hair salons and places I go and talk to other woman.
The aftercare and follow up are so important and it wasn't comfortable going into surgery either.
