Internet offer for a month's supply of Acai Berry is a scam. Ad says you will only pay shipping of $3.97. There is no mention of enrollment in their VIP Club. When shipment arrives, in very small print on the shipping slip you discover that you have been enrolled in the VIP Club and your credit card will be charged $69.90.
To further complicate things, if you want your money refunded you must call or email for a return authorization number and return at your own expense.
My credit card company said they could not flag one particular company or individual as fraudulent to prevent future charges from Nutra Lane, but would be happy to help me recover my money after the charges had been made.
When speaking to a rep from Nutra Lane I managed to discontinue the VIP Club membership I never enrolled in, but could not prevent charges being placed on my credit card for the free offer without returning them. My argument was that it was a free offer in which I only agreed to pay shipping. I paid the shipping and I would not return the Acai Berry. I told the rep that I WOULD have my way and not be a victim of their scam.
My solution? I called the credit card company and cancelled the card and am having a new one issued.
I will be holding my breath to see how it works out.
