Consumers beware! A recent 1st time consumer of walgreens pharmacies went to get a prescription and ended up receiving the wrong medication. Because the new assistant behind the counter had no idea what she was doing in their opinion and recieved the wrong medication!
THE CONSUMER DID NOT REALIZE THIS UNTIL AFTER THE MEDICATION WAS TAKEN! How many times has this happened before? Well the manager said (qoute)"great another lawsuit" and went on to describe how this was not the first time this had happened, because once before according to her, a child had the same thing happen to them! The child ended up in the hospital (according to her) and she didnt go into any other details.
To make a long story short, after contacting the managers, regional managers, corporate office, insurance companies, they said the issue was: the person did not die, package is clearly marked. Etc there was no lost wages, no court in the usa would award damages (settlement) and offered a measley $50.00 yes fifty dollars! This was an insult!!
There are alot of what ifs and questions: what if the medicine harmed their organs? What if it was a child receiving medication.? Allergic reactions a possibility? Wasn't the package clearly marked? Did the consumer put too much trust in the pharmacy? The end result was the pills that were taken were pain pills and the consumer did survive (though very afraid of losing their lives for quite sometime) they (companies) did not care about what had happened.
Walgreens's insurance company - Kemper insurance companies handles claims. Walgreens is insured for up to $2 million dollars liability insurance and contact between the two was ongoing and all they could come up with is $50? How many more times is this going to happen to the public? To our children?
Walgreens needs to take a look at their system they have in place so this will not continue to happen to the public, they ignored a customer who potentially could of been fatally harmed, they gave no apologies for the error, the feeling was they and their insurance company could of cared less what happened. It didn't matter to them..

This is an outrage! This is one persons story and is based on real and actual events (this happened the week of 9/11) as one person was afraid for their life, many were losing theirs: (. How can these companies get away with these incidents happening and not be accountable for their negligence? Please be careful when you seek medication from a pharmacy. This could happen to you.
