I signed up for the training program through Professional Fitness which is located inside of Work Out World. The twelve month program involved one 1/2 hour session per week for $25 per session.
I was cynical about the whole thing at first, especially when the big contract was pulled out. However, I had received one session and was impressed with the workout I had received in the 30 minutes I was there.
I specifically asked the general manager at this location if I could cancel at anytime without penalty, and was told yes. I signed the agreement.
My first visit went horribly. The trainer assigned to me was a no show, and I was put with another trainer who was already training two other people. The following appointments I was with the same trainer but scheduling was impossible and he also "forgot" about one of my appointments and another he was leaving the gym as I was walking in. NICE.
Ultimately due to personal reasons and a shoulder injury, I chose to cancel. After only 4 sessions. At sign up, they charged me my 1st and last, which was $200, and a $39 processing fee. Another $100 was debited out of my account during the first month.
Now that I am trying to cancel, they are telling me that there is a $225 fee to cancel (25% of the unused portion). This is on top of the $339 I have already paid!!! For only 4 half hour sessions!!! What a ripoff. When I tried to be reasonable and ask if the money already paid could be applied to the fee, as I have not used the services, they tell me no. Even though in their own contract it states that they can only keep the money if I choose to consume the unused portion. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!
