I, too, got hooked on the scam of trying a trial size of a product for the cost of shipping and handling. Before I ever received the trial size product, charges were showing up on my credit card statement. The original website said I would be allowed a 14 day trial period.
I immediately called the credit card company when I saw the "pending" amount. I was told I could not stop the charge—I would have to wait and make a formal complaint after the charge came out on my statement.
Since the initial "pending" charge was noticed, four more charges have been added to my account. Two of these charges are for a website. Can you imagine anyone wanting to sign up to go to a website for $39.95 a month? I've been told I'll have to pay these amounts as they are not a product I could return. I didn't even know that I had supposedly signed up for this website. The instigators of this scam sure knew what they were doing. They will have charged all these people like me for a website that will allow them to keep the scammed money!
I have filed a formal report with the state attorney general's office of my state and have closed my charge account.
