Personal training at LA Fitness major rip off! Don't get duped! Boca Raton, Florida

Personal training at LA Fitness is a complete rip off! Stay far away and don't get suckered into it! They sucker you in by having me sign a contract for a short while. Then they told me if I changed my mind to send them the cancelation form thirty days before the next billing cycle so they wouldn't bill me for the personal training since I'm not going to use it. I followed the directions and they still took the money for the personal training out of my account.

I called them completely enraged only to be told by someone in customer service that I can't cancel the contract. They were still going to bill me so I might as well use the service. This engraged me even more. I asked the person I spoke with what the purpose of having me send the cancelation form was if they were going to continue to bill. The smart ass had nothing to say to that. I couldn't get my money back and I was still going to be billed by them. I think NOT!

I called the manager at the local gym I go to where he basically told me the same thing the guy from customer service told me. The cancelation form I sent in was to let them know I didn't want to extend my contract beyond the six months not to cancel it immediately. He said my only options out of the contract were a 50/50 buy out. Mind you the contract I had was for six months and I paid for three so I thought ok problem solved. NOT!

I had to buy out the rest of the time I had left on the contract (or a month and a half) which came out to $270. I told him that I paid 50 percent of the contract already so why would I pay them $270 more when they have the percentage they need to let me out of the contract. The crook had the nerve to tell me that the buy out is done at the time I call to buy out and it doesn't take into account the fact that I've already paid 50 percent.

So my options where to keep having them debit my account $180 for the next three months for something I'm not going to use or pay them $270 to get myself out of a contract knowing they have the percentage they need to let me out. I chose neither! I got my money back from the bank and filed a report with my bank to keep them from debiting my account.

Save your time, money and enery and stay as far away from the personal training!
