I responded to an email offering a free 14 day supply of a teeth whitening system (paid a "shipping and handling" charge of 5.99 charged to my credit card).
I received the "system" which consisted of nothing but a Colgate toothbrush, a. 75 oz tube of colgate toothpaste, 3 yards of colgate dental floss, 2 plastic "trays" for applying the whitener, and a syrenge with 3ML of "teeth whitening gel".
I immediately knew this was not a sufficient supply of anything for a "14 day" treatment and figured I could have purchased the entire set at walmart for less then the "shipping and handling" charge. I figured "no harm - no foul" as I knew I was taking somewhat of a risk when I ordered it and I was not out any excessive amount of money.
14 days later a second charge of $88.95 showed up on my credit card account. I immediately called the telephone number associated with the charge and was informed that I could not talk to any person about this charge - that the only thing I could do was email them at the email address [email protected]. I received a return email from them informing me that my "membership" had been cancelled and that I would receive no further shipment of billing.
I have copies of all the emails exchanged with them and the limited documentation that came with my original shipment and nowhere in any of them does it refer to any "membership agreement" or requirement for me to provide any cancellation within 14 days to prevent further charges.
This is the most blatent rip-off that it has been misfortune to encounter on the net. I had to cancel my card account in order to make sure that these rip-off artist would not make further charges to my card.
