I joined the "National Health & Wellness Club" in 2006 because of offers for free product testing. I soon began getting books in the mail at $29.94 each. The books are in layman's terms and too simplistic for healthcare professionals.
About 16 months ago, I sent notification that I wanted to discontinue the membership, but the books resumed each time I paid for the books I had received. I sent the books back with notices to discontinue membership.
I have tried numerous times to discontinue membership. I received phone calls from the club trying to get me to reconsider, which I declined.
I then received a bill for the Life Membership: $275.00. I sent them a letter that I did not intend to pay for a Life Membership, I want out of the club. Now they have turned me over to a collection agency for non-payment of dues.
