The Dentist Dr. Livy E Stoyka refused to finish a procedure that she started and had already paid for. On May 12 I went in to get a crown on tooth #18. The temporary was put on and a few weeks later the permanent was cemented. Less than one month of having the crown on it cracked and started to hurt so I went back to have it redone. She put another temporary crown on the tooth and charged me another 112.00 (for a total of 785.00) to have the crown replaced. A week later the tooth started to hurt once again so I called the office over the weekend and when I had got no response I went up there Monday morning in pain-she took a quick look and sent me to the endodontist (I went to mine not the one she suggested) blaming my tooth problem on a previous root canal. I went to the endodontist had it checked (she made me do this several times since I started goin there) and it was fine. The Endodontist gave me a paper stating the tooth was fine. I went back to the office and she refused to see me. I called there several times to see what was going on and my phone calls were not returned. When I called again for the 10th or 11th time on June 25 I was told my crown was in but she would not put it on. I must pay yet another dentist to do the work she was responsible for and paid to do. On June 26 I went to her office to pick up my crown and they would not let me have it unless i signed a release of liability form which i was forced to sign in order to get my crown-I did not want to sign the release of liability but was told if i didnt i would not get my crown they were holding my crown hostage until i signed this paper. They then denied me a witnessed copy of the release. I asked to be given the money I paid for this crown which they denied and unwillingly signed the release just to get my crown. I dont even know if its my crown or not until i see another dentist. She is the most negligent, fraudulent, unprofessional so-called dentist i have ever come into contact with and in my opinion should not be practicing dentistry. She got over 4,000.00 dollars out of me and then blew me off in the middle of a procedure she started.
