When I went to the site after watching the informercial where the price of $9.99 was posted, I happily ordered what I thought was the one DVD. So, imagine my surprise when we entered the checkout and I noticed that the price was actually $12.95. OK, this was a little misleading, but I figured that we were only talking $3 or $4 dollars, so it was no big deal. I placed my order, the product arrived and that was that. Or so I thought. Well, imagine my surprise when a couple of months later I noticed a charge on my card for $26.98 for Crunchless Abs. I called that customer service department to inquire and was rudely informed that when I ordered, I automatically signed up to receive regular shipments. I explained that I did not intend to have this be an ongoing relationship and that all I wanted was the one DVD. The customer service rep, Bob, told me basically, so sad, too bad, but did offer to cancel my account and told me the hoops I would have to jump through to return the package (at my own expense) and that the company only refunds the purchase price, not the shipping charges. He gave me a number to write on the box and assured me that my account was cancelled. My daughter got the package before I did and opened it. So, I figured, they had already charged me, she liked it, and my account was closed, so I kept it. Of course, on Friday, there was another $19.99 charge from, you guessed it, Crunchless Abs. This time I emailed them because I did not feel like being disrespected by Bob again, and was informed that this shipment actually cost $46.97 and that they thoughtfully took it out in two installments. I don't trust them to keep their word, so I have to go to my bank and prevent them from taking any more money out of my account.
The sad thing is, the program is good and works, but the manner in which they sneak up and sign you up for this revolving and expensive obligation makes you not want to recommend them to anyone who's friendship or positive opinion you value.
