Stroops Fitness Club, Stroops Training
Exploitation of children and parents

I recently came across an advertisement for the Stroops fitness club where they were offering a Real Salt Lake MLS Soccer Club elite sports training camp. I called the Real Salt Lake and spoke with the director of youth camps, and she had never heard of Stroops, and informed me they were NOT authorized to use their logo or registered marks. This made me suspicious, if this Stroops company was willing to lie and steal the logo of a Major League Soccer team for an advertisement, what else were they lying about? The Real is now investigating the ad.

So I called the phone numbers listed on the ad to verify that the trainers they were so boldy advertising as sports training specialists were certified by a nationally accredited organization. Thats when the fun really began, I was givin the run around like you wouldn't believe, transfered to this person and over to that person then over to a voicemail box. This happened over the course of several calls. Is nobody able to answer a simple question? Are your trainers that you are advertising certified to train? Simple right? They were completely unprofessional! During a different call, I was actually told NOT to bring my kids in to Stroops and that the guy running the program "didn't know what he was doing" no confidence in co-workers, big red flag.

All I wanted to know was are the trainers certified before I bring my kids in to be trained. Finally, I was told that the owners little brother was the trainer "so they were pretty sure he was certified" but had no idea what he was certified in. I was then told that the owner played football in the early 1990's so that should be sufficient enough information for me to bring in my kids and enroll them in the program.

Hey folks, my brother is a doctor, but that doesnt mean I am going to start performing operations. Go out and get certified you idiots before you start trying to take money off the community and put people at risk.

My advice, is to stay far far away from Stroops. My expierence was laughable. If you want to drive a car, you go get a drivers license, in turn if you want to train athletes especially kids go get trained. Common sense, isn't so common!!
