In the mid 1980's I join what was known as the Chicago Health Club after a few months into my contract I called them to tell them I would like to cancell my membership they in turned told me I could'nt because there was a health club located within a five mile radius of my home I then informed them that I was not told that when I initially signed my contract.
I then refused to pay I was not using there facility why should I pay for something I was not going to be using. Soon after I remember that there was a court ruling saying that that policy was illegal and not soon after that they were brought out by Bally's it has been at least 12 years since any activity from them and I thought all was well until last week when I received a collection letter for $1400.00 stating that I owe Bally's this amount.
I think this is highway robbery. I would like to know how they can do this to anyone. I have never seen anything like this until early last week when I was trying to locate some information on the web regarding Bally's and these tatics and had they done the same to anyone else and I see they have, somebody needs to do something about this.
