I went to Coast Dental for a cleaning. They told me I had gingivitis and a cavity. I did not have the symptoms listed by their own pamphlet for gingivitis. I looked at the bill and they had a 200 dollar toothbrush on it. I asked if that was necessary and they hesitated and said it was recommended.
I knew something was wrong, so I went to another dentist, David Johnson of St. Petersburg who was a private dentist. I didn't tell him of my previous diagnosis. I was told by them that I didn't have any problems - no cavities or gingivitis. I asked them specifically about gingivitis and they said I had early stages of it but with good oral hygiene (flossing daily and brushing teeth daily) that it would go away.
Coast Dental is a company of cheats who try to get as much money out of you as possible. I was lucky enough to get a second opinion before I wasted money on gingivitis treatment (300 dollars) and a cavity removal. Do not go to these people. Find a good private dentist.
