I am a former banker and very detailed about my accounts. I was balancing my account and noticed I was overdrawn. I knew I had enough to cover the charges, and so did not understand how that was possible. I saw a double deduction from my tanning membership at Del Sol. I found the contact information from the online record of the charge and called immediately.

I reached one store and they advised me to call another. I talked to the owner/manager of the store that I was directed to. She told me that I needed to bring a copy of my bank statement down and she would refund the money. I told her that it was not very convenient for me to bring the bank statement down because they messed up. She said that she could not refund the account without proof.

I dropped the bank statement off to her location that evening; the owner/manager had gone to the gym. The girl at the front desk said the owner/manager would call me that evening, after she got back from the gym.

The next day came without any word. I was near the salon and so, stopped by. I wanted to know what had been done about my account and why I hadn't heard from her.

Upon arrival, I had to wait for the owner/manager to come in. When she did, she was on her cell phone with a personal call. She did not want to acknowledge the issue at hand. I had asked her what was going on with my account. She said she had credited the charge back to my account and it was taken care of. She said that she was not going to refund the overdraft because of other charges to my bank account by other businesses. She would have to discuss it with her boyfriend first. But, since I was being rude to her, she said I was not going to get the fee refunded.

This business owner/manager told me that if I wanted something, I had to be nice to her and kiss her butt. I was not going to get anything by having an attitude. I simply stated she was the one that made the error and she needed to correct it. She refused.

After leaving, I called my bank to verify that the credit had been posted, or was being processed. It was not.

Not only did this business owner make mistakes and refuse to correct them, she drove this loyal customer away. She had lied to me. The credit was not in my account when she said it was. I was astonished that this was the way the owner of a business treated her client. With a little professionalism, this situation could have been easily resolved.

I was a member with them for more than two years. My loyalty did not even get my membership fee that they took out twice refunded, nonetheless, the measly $10.00 overdraft fee that was caused because of their mistake.
