Frontier Pharmacies, located in Weston, Florida (Broward County) is one of many names used by a company that takes your online order for prescriptions, charges a "processing fee" which turns out to be a monthly "membership" fee for a minimum of four (4) months. All of the companies are part and parcel of something else you won't see on the web page - The RX Discount Club. Who would've guessd, right? You're trying to buy medicine. They're enrolling you in a club.
FACT: When you place an order you are actually signing a contract for a membership in The RX Discount Club! You are agreeing to pay a monthly fee for a product the company (ies) are not obligated to send you.
You will not see the contract. It is carefully hidden in the wordy "terms of use" statement. You buy? You have electronically signed and consented to the "terms" which consist of your obligation to pay $80. Over 4 months. The company is off the hook.
Here's how it works: The order page clearly states "No refunds. No exchanges." The not so visible "terms of use" contains a littany of information and disclaimers informing the purchaser that if even the "doctor" doesn't approve the prescription (which clearly means the company doesn't have to ship anything) the buyer pays.
The purchase is not a purchase for a prescription, it is a purchase of a membership or the right to attempt to buy a prescription. That right will cost you $80. You'd be better off shooting craps in Vegas. All the purchaser gets is got. No prescription. No refund, credit or exchange. And no legal way to recover. These people are masters of misdirection. Each page leads you away from and into another affiliate or subsidiary. The effect, obviously, is to frustrate and confuse. It works.
CAUTION: When you receive an order number, confirmation number or tracking number, wait 24 hours then check order status. Don't be surprised when, following the instructions, you receive an error message which reads: "invalid order information" or some similar phrasing.
The problem is you won't be able to backtrack if... You don't keep the order placement page to include a copy of the section of the page where your credit card data is entered. Print and retain!
Who's vulnerable? Anybody and everybody. Young and especially seniors who must have medication and live on fixed incomes. Young families with children who have little or no health insurance.
