I have been with Mega Health and Life Insurance, aka NASE, since 2003 and representatives misrepresented themselves by telling my that a prior medical condition would be covered, and to date has not. I was forced to look for insurance when my employers dropped us like hotcakes and I had to have coverage fast, otherwise I would have shopped around. Anytime I go to the doctor, I am responsible for the majority of the bill, except maybe $6 out of $90. I had outpatient surgery last year and had to go to several doctors for a benign lump to be removed, and out of the almost $2,000, Mega/NASE only covered $250.
I thought insurance was supposed to help the little person, but apparently I'm just taking my monthly premium and throwing it out the window. I might as well have no insurance, take the money I pay MEGA for INSURANCE, save it, and have well enough to cover any medical expenses, except for something major. I feel I have been taken by this company. I went over my policy the other night and it is very confusing, what is covered and what is not. They have a long, long list of what they will/will not cover. I had Blue/Cross Blue/Shield before Mega, and they covered just about anything. If my employer had not dropped us, I would not be in this situation. And as far as going back, I have been turned down 3 times because of a pre-existing condtion, which they covered for over 7 years.
