I went into Dr. Grambeau for a dental exam because i have several teeth that need to be pulled. My widom tooth was infected and i have 3 other teeth that are very sensitive to cold and heat.
I waited for the doctor and talked with the nurse and I explained my position of not much sleep for the past 2 weeks and that I was in major pain. She took note and was helpful making me feel at home. Next Rodney came into the room and said hello and asked how I was doing, My reply was "I have been better, but i guess it could be worse "
From there the dentist looked at my teeth and asked me if i was sensitive to hot and cold. I replied "yes" and I had checked that off on the form i had filled out before my visit. And then he pulled out a little vial of floresent liquid and told me it would react like a cold substance and i would feel pain and to let him know when it hurt.
He continued to apply this liquid to my cavities with his hand jammed in my mouth it wa hard to even moan when it began to hurt, this substance felt like dry ice, it was freezing cold. Now this hurt very much being these teeth were half decayed and one was infected and with many cavities. So it was very painfull.
After that he gave me a referral slip to go to an oral surgen.
And gave me a Prescription for Amoxicillin and Tylanol 3.32 Amoxicillin and 12 tylanol with no refill. I mentioned that the last time I was seen by a dentist they gave me more medication and a stronger painkiller being tylanol 3 is a weak painkiller for such a MAJOR PROBLEM.
The doctor replied to his nurse, lets go with this, what he had prescribed already even after I expressed what I thought about it. Then he left the room and office as far as I could tell, not saying another word to me or my Grandmother who use to go to him and had taken her 2 kids there when they were little.
And the Office lady Nancy was of no help, seemed like she had more air in her brain than anything. Next the nurse who talked to me before the dentist had seen me came back out to give me a referral slip.
A week went by and i found a dental clinic that had a reduced rate plan for me but my appointment would not be until 4 weeks later. So as the clinic recomended I called back the Dr. Rodney J. Grambeau Jr. Dds. And spoke with nancy again, I explained I would not be able to be seen until the 11th of the next month.
She said she would ask the doctor and call back soon. Almost two hours later she called me back and stated the doctor didn't feel comfortable refilling my prescription for the tylanol 3's and that i should contact the place i had went to last. I then explianed that they were no longer in business and that I did try them first before going to his office.
Nancy replied to me that Dr. Grambeau recomended I take Ibuprofin for the pain. I told her I did and they didn't work thats why my grandmother made the appointment with there office. I told her it was hard for me to believe being i was still in pain, and that She said " Sorry" and then "Bye" and then hung up her phone.
I felt degraded and that I was not treated fairly and he was just pushing me off on another dentist or clinic. I felt belittled and like I didn't belong and that he was looking at me in a " your white trash get out of my clean office look", and i am a smart young man and thats when i told my grandmother I was going to find a place to file my complaint against him so no other person should have to suffer through again.
