This company wants to provide medical coverage on their terms to maximize profits. This company recently received a cease and disist order form the Washington State Insurance Commissioner. What does that suggest?
I am NOT speaking as "another disgruntled policy-holder who does not understand his medical plan." I understand my plan very well.
MEGA is selective in what and how they cover medical claims.
My daughter suffered from an allergic reaction, was rushed to an emergency room, treated there and had two subsequent doctor office visits for follow-up care. MEGA elected to pay my daughter's claim using the Accident Rider that was available in my coverage. Consequently, the insurance plan paid less optimally, leaving me with hospital, physician and doctor office bills amounting upwards of one thousand dollars ($1,000).
I could not understand their rationale for classifying my daughter's condition as an accident. Profit drives how they pay. MEGA has it all figured out. They manipulate the language and how it reads in the policy. This allows them to split-hairs and to loophole their way out of paying claims optimally.
The customer service people were smug and stopped short of calling me "another policy holder who does not understand how his plan works."
Beware.
