I decided to try out the "free 14-day trial" offer, paying only shipping and handling, and was completely ripped-off. I placed my order in early November and recieved my order confirmation email stating I would recieve it in several days.
I was charged the $6.95 S&H on 11/22/04. I recieved the product in the begining of December and had mistakingly assumed that I would have a 14-day trial period as promised. As I was checking my bank account I noticed the $56.90 charge posted on 12/02/04 (the same day I recieved my trial product).
I first emailed a complaint to the customer service department and in response recieved a response stating that I could not return the product nor be reimbursed. Next I called the company and further inquired about the issue, recieving the same response. At this time I asked that my subscription be cancelled.
Today I again found the notorious $56.90 charge dated 12/31/04 on my bank account. I contacted the number provided on my bank statement to dispute the problem. I complained that I had canceled was told I hadn't so I canceled again, and was referred to the website to complain.
I called another 800 number and was given yet another phone number. Calling 888-255-2417 my account still shows up active in their system (meaning I would have recieved another shipment!) I explained my situation again and will be immediately reimbursed for the last charge. I was also told I would be reimbursed for the previous charge if I returned the unopened product.
The free 14-day trial still remains a scam and the whole experience has truely been discouraging. I hope now that I will actually be reimbursed. If not for a second chance I would not have known I could be refunded the money. I think the many complaints may be helping!
