I ordered an Olympus C-750 Digital Camera with a three year warranty for $530.00 from Hotbuys Electronics after seeing their "low" prices on Pricegrabber's website. I received a gray-market camera (Japanese language camera which cannot be converted to English and has no US warranty.)
There was no implication in Hotbuys Electronics' advertising that this camera was a Japanese camera. I sent the camera back for a refund, after a rude phone conversation with employees at Hotbuys Electronics. Hotbuys Electronics refused the camera, which was sent back to me. I disputed this clearly fraudulent purchase with my credit card company, Capital One. After a grueling five months of letter-writing and attempting to prove that this was a fraudulent purchase, Capital One dropped the case and I am stuck with a Japanese camera I cannot use and am $530.00 plus shipping costs and credit card charges.
This has been the most frusterating loss and a reality check that credit cards DO NOT protect you from fraud!
