I purchased a BBQ from Home Depot on their website. Delivery was fast and free. However, when it was time to assemble the BBQ, it was missing 2 pieces. I called customer service and they did not offer any assistance other than saying I had options: either bring back the BBQ in the original box (okay, but a lot of trouble for me) or they could order the missing part and it would be delivered in 10 to 15 days (not acceptable).
I offered to go to one of their stores to pick up the missing pieces, and she said it could not be done that way. Well, the way I see it, if I paid over $400 for a BBQ, I would like to have the missing parts ASAP, not in 14 days. I talked to a neighbour who works at Home Hardware and he said they would replace the missing parts right away.
When I called back, after thinking about my "options," the gentleman, who I feel was more sympathetic to me, mentioned that I also had the option of having it picked up by Home Depot, and that is what I did. Never again will I buy online from Home Depot.
