A few months back I bought a 4G hotspot internet device from Verizon. The first bill was $500!! I was shocked and sure there had been a mistake. They told me I had gone over my usage for the month. Usage?
I was not educated by the salesperson on how I was being charged for looking on you tube, watching movies through Netflix or playing games online through xbox. The customer service rep on the phone explained I had been getting texts messages saying Im close to going over data usage.
I got no texts or warning, even if I did— I had no idea what they meant. Like I said, I received no eduaction on the product itself. So I upgraded to 10mb instead of 5.By the time my second bill came, it was an astonishing $1,000!! I couldn't believe my eyes. This was getting close to Christmas and I couldn't bare the idea of this much money going towards an internet bill, it was practically the cost of my rent!
Verizon agreed to take off only $200. During the next month I payed them $200/wk! I don't make alot of money, I'm just surving like everyone else. Being a loyal customer for over 3 yrs, you'd think they could get rid of at least half the bill knowing how hard it is, especially with the way the economy is. $1,000 to them is chump change.
I no longer want to be with Verizon, but early termination of a contract (s) will set me right back in the hole.
I feel I was robbed and I'd like to be free from Verizon. I would never do business with them ever again.
