I did all my research considering the switch from AT&T to Verizon. I was looking for improvement in mobile phone call quality without impacting my monthly bill. What a mistake! I asked in 4 different locations, concerning my Military and or Veterans discount and said I would be paying "exactly the same", for the same services essentially. The 4 places of inquiry were namely: 3 different "Corporate" store locations, in 2 different and distant cities and a call inquiry on their 611 service line. They were all consistent with this information-the lie that is. After the switch of having to pay initial changeover costs, getting a letter saying I was approved for the discount (without any details of the discount breakdown), and then on the 37th day after purchasing the phone I get my first bill stating there is no discount on my data plan. Now, I am SOL by 7 days. I immediately called the 611 center and they told me that there is no discount on the data plan, was placed on hold, and later told it only applied for the $50 plan and higher-very new or another lie of information.
I lost my DISCOUNTED unlimited data plan, lost my DISCOUNTED 540 min. PLUS ROLLOVER Plan., and lost my faster 3GS downloads speeds while PAYING MORE for a company that trains their stores and call centers to lie.
For a long time, I thought Verizon was a high end company, but now I am clearly disappointed to know that it is as bad as any other big bad company. I can only hope that we military/veterans can get a class action suite against Verizon Wireless to rectify this situation.
