I have had problems with several of my Straight Talk phones being defective and have had to return them for repairs. Troubleshooting, shipping and repair usually takes at least 2 weeks.
The last time I prepaid for cell time, I paid the $45/mo for unlimited minutes, texting, internet for 6 months. During that time, friends told me that something strange was going on with my phone.
It was being repaired so I did not know what they were talking about.
I filed a case with the BBB and a Straight Talk rep called me. When I told her I wanted a refund for the minutes I had not used, she told me that I did not have as many minutes as I had requested reimbursement for. At that time, I learned they had discontinued my service after 3 months, shorting me $135.00. Since my phone had stopped working, I never knew they stopped the service I was still paying for.
I have a business and am concerned about losing my phone number. I have kept the same number for 7 years because I have it on all of my office materials; and, I want my customers to be able to find me.
With Straight Talk, if you let your phone become inactive for a certain period of time, you lose your phone number. I cannot believe they stopped my service while I was going through the mess with the phone.
I was told that my bank's record of debiting my account for $257.00 to Straight Talk for Services on 1/17 was not enough proof that I had purchase service for 6 months.
