We searched for solar cell suppliers and found that Cotech Solar Group Limited in Shanghai, China, advertised to Americans via the internet. They had very competitive prices and low shipping costs. Their product appeared to be competitive with U.S. Manufacturers of solar cells. We contacted the U.S. State Department and asked if this company was safe to deal with. The State Department gave us a list of companies and said if Cotech Solar Group Limited was not on the list, they were legal to deal with. They told us to contact the U.S. Department of Commerce to find out if they were trustworthy. We contacted the U.S. Department of Commerce and they also gave us a list and said if the company wasn't on that list, it was probably safe to deal with. Since they weren't on the lists, we decided to contact them and were made contact with Tony Ban of Cotech Solar Group Limited via email and he spoke in English to us to facilitate our payment for product. Once payment of $2,300.00 was made to Cotech, he quit responding to our inquiries of when the product would arrive. To date, Cotech Solar Group Limited has completely failed to deliver our solar cells and has ceased contact with us. Cotech Solar Group Limited is a complete fraud - don't fall for this scam from them. Also, don't rely on the U.S. State Department or U.S. Department of Commerce.
