This morning I appeared about the Bestbuy site and discovered a Toshiba Satellite notebook that was precisely what I needed, marketed at $429.99. Visited Bestbuy area Number 1 where they didn't possess the notebook in-stock, but had a show design designated at $429.99, and also the salesman established this was the cost.
