DTV Charged for equipment not returned

I disconnected my DirecTV account in early January after almost 2 years of service. I had 4 months left on my contract which I was aware of and paid $75.00 for the early termination. My account was setup to auto-withdraw every month so I was never late on a payment and I paid the early termination fee immediately! Over those 2 years I paid an average monthly bill of $138.00. DTV explained recovery boxes would be sent to my address with prepaid labels to return the 2 satellite boxes.

On February 7th I logged into my bank account and found a withdraw for $309.00 from DTV. Of course this was for the equipment not being returned. I never received the recovery boxes to ship the equipment back. DTV is now saying it was my obligation to call and notify them I had not received the recovery boxes. The boxes are lying in a corner in my house; I have a full time job, family, and finishing up my degree. I don't have time nor did I realize it was my job to track packages for DTV.

FedEx provided a POD that shows delivered to my town and supposedly my address. *These boxes should require signatures* because they never arrived. I fulfilled my end of the agreement. I don't want the equipment and have no reason to fabricate a story about the boxes not arriving. DTV is resending boxes but in the meantime they are refusing to issue credit for $309 until the equipment is returned which ultimately is an error by FEDEX! FEDEX has put a tracer on the package. I need this money to make my bills this coming week!!
