I called the 888 number to reach my bank. The call was interrupted by a message telling me there was a new service associated with this number. To receive a text about the new service press Y. I did.
I then got a text telling me I had a new service which would allow me to retrieve deleted messages from my cell phone.
I could not get through to the bank. I finally got out of this intrusion to find I had seemingly authorized a charge of $9.99 per month to my cell phone for this "service." I notified the bank of what was happening on their 888 line and called my cell carrier, ATT, to advise them I had not authorized and would not pay charges.
I then entered the smsvw.com search and found other usacomplaints.com. I found the "contract" and sent a text toSTOP 2333 and email to opt out of this service.
Beware and act immediately, ATT told me this is happening more frequently and people don't notice the new charge on their bills for awhile.
