We received an invoice from this company for 2 extremely high priced toner cartridges. I recognized it as a scam immediately, but we never received any toner from them so this isnt quite the normal scam.
On the invoice it says in small letters at the bottom that our order will ship once payment is received. Other than that there is no indication that it is for product not already received. The phone number for them doesn't work, but the fax number does.
I found their logo on deviant art... Posted by the guy that designed it for them. Also found a listing for them on manta with a different phone number. I called the number and got a message that there was new information for the number I am trying to reach.
It prompted me to press any touch tone key from my cell phone (it specified cell phone!). I pressed a key and it immediately said "please say yes after the beep". I hung up at that point assuming that this was another scam and that it would sign me up for some service or charge I did not want.
A moment later I got a text message saying:
Reply Y now to get info on the # you are trying to reach. Locator Svc $9.99/month std msg fees for 20 lookups/month. Support/Terms? Www.smsvw.com"
So not only is this company scamming people with toner scams... If you try to look into them and call other numbers listed for them out there you'll end up in a cell phone scam as well!
