Changed number, dropped service, no phone usage

Due to an illness in the family, I bought two Straight Talk cellular phones and the $45 auto-refill plans to go with both. Unfortunately, within a month I had my number changed three times, without warning. I figured I wouldn't get amazing service, but I had the assumption that I would at least get a phone number and consistent service at the very least.

The final straw was when our pet was diagnosed with a terminal illness (we only have one car between my husband and I.) We needed to communicate with each other in order to take him to emergency trips to the vet. I woke one morning to find my phone not working, mid-month. I already paid. There was no reason for my number to be spontaneously changed. I contacted the "customer service" (which is a joke!) and they assured me they would restart and reprogram my phone without the changed number. However, by the time I went through the whole ordeal with them, at the end of the call I opened my phone only to find out that my number had indeed been changed for no reason, again.

The second phone had no problems. Unfortunately, this past week we have not been able to receive notification of text messages on it. I went down and bought myself an expensive phone under a contract plan and attempted to cancel my Straight Talk. Beware! You can only do this by calling up "customer service." I cannot change my credit card information via their website or cancel service by myself! I am about to be out more money because I cannot contact a represtentative!
