Feb. 18 - We were in LaQuinta, CA. And my laptop died. Geek Squad, who I'd never used before but assumed they knew what they were doing, said it was the power supply. We bought a new laptop computer at the LaQuinta Best Buy. I paid an extra $100.00 to have Geek transfer my data, bookmarks, etc. From the old laptop to the new one. Bad decision. Since there was no power supply I couldn't do it myself. Geek transferred half of the information I requested. Bookmarks were old ones from three years ago. Folders on my desktop that I specifically requested were empty when opened. My picture files - and I had may - which I specifically requested were empty files.
My passwords, in a file well named on the desktop were not transferred. I went back second time. Second disk was
just as much a disaster.in addition, Geek seemed totally unorganized. Couldn't find my computer or any information about my job, despite the fact that I had the receipt (thank goodness). No one to wait on the customers but kids in BB shirts standing around talking. Will never use Geek again or buy at BB. Very bad impression.
