AOL had a link to a "NO CREDIT CHECK! FREE PHONE!" so I decided to check it out. I am about to have a baby and really really need a phone. I received the phone pretty fast. The phone worked for 2 days! It did not pick up anywhere in my home town and they advertise "crystal-clear reception." I called customer service and they said that I had to try another phone so I had to wait for that one to come in the mail.

I finally received the phone and low and behold this one was worse than the first. I couldn't even hear my voicemail. I called customer service again and had to wait FOREVER to get the phone reprogrammed. I told them that it was a waste of time and they told me I could not get a refund until I went through this. Finally I proved my point when the technician tried to call me and it didn't work. I cancelled my account at that moment.

Then I had to be transferred to a customer service supervisor, Beth, because I was going to be charged a $150 early termination fee because I had gone over the alloted amount of minutes in 2 days. I was also told to write to a Mr. Goodman (who has no phone!).

Get this, I got my phone in June and cancelled in July. I have been charged a monthly fee for a phone I do not have for August, September, October, and November. My bank talked me out of changing accounts and has refunded my money along with bounced check fees for 3 out of 4 months. The other month (September) I did not have enough money to cover this fee for a phone I don't have and it was given to a collection agency.

NOW, because Liberty is claiming I never cancelled my membership or sent my phone back (which I did with the return address labels they sent me) I have an outstanding bounced check for $87.97 (plus $30 bounced check fee) and I can't write checks anywhere. I was very embarrassed when I went into Rich's to write a check and was declined. And then to find out why, really got my nerves boiling! I do not have this phone! Have not since July and supposively I bounced a check in September? First of all the monthly fee is supposed to only be $46.14. How I managed to get a $87.97 monthly charge baffles me.

Now the collection agency will not clear me until I get it cleared with Liberty Wireless which is impossible. 90% of the time a recording picks up and says "We apologize for the inconvenience we are expriencing high call volume at this time and cannot take your call. Please call back later." Finally one time I get through to a lady that refuses to let me talk to her supervisor. She says she can handle this matter and sounds as if she is only taking notes. She tells me she will "expedite" this to her supervisor, Jose Pasin, and I should receive an email in 3 days.

Is there anything I can do. I refuse to pay.
