I too have been ripped off. Just signed up for Direct TV. Questioned the direct auto pay when talking to the Direct TV rep over the phone stating I did not want to do that. After he asked someone else (I presume) he said we that was OK we did not have to do that. BAM get an e-mail 1 day after installation stating we don't get free HD access unless we sign up for auto pay. Contacting the company again got us no where. Seems like the represenatives will tell you anything to get you to sign up, even if they have to lie to you. Reading other reports on here I see I am not the first to have this happen to. Only wish I had read here first and it would have made my decision to not go with DirectTV. If you do get everything in writing first, but I'll bet they will not do this as it seems to be thier practive to deceive.
