I sent my Canon 40D with the 28-135mm Kit lens in the ORIGINAL packaging from Canon into Gazelle for sale. It was "received" within a matter of days and waited for inspection for over 6 days (which is their "timeframe" for inspections). On the day it was inspected, magically, my lens went missing and they changed my item to the "Body Only" version. After arguing with useless customer service reps through chat (because they DO NOT list a phone number... Should have been a clue there...) They simply said that there was not a lens with the camera. Despite me telling them exactly how the camera was packed in its original packaging. So, according to their policies, I requested that my item be sent back to me. Not only was my lens missing when the camera returned (as I expected since they stole/lost it), they also threw away my Canon original box and only shipped back my items in a generic box with packing material! When asked why that was not put in the policies, I got this response - "[Lilith#001] I'm really sorry about that. We don't keep the boxes— they are recycled as soon as they arrive, unless it's a computer.
[Josh Black] shouldn't that be in your policies somewhere?
[Lilith#001] Probably, but we get so few original boxes, that it just didn't make it into the top "must add to site" list. I'm sorry."
I have all the chats from the "online support" for proof of their incompetent support. I would never suggest ANYONE use their site, EVER, unless you want to turn in some cheap DVD's that aren't worth anything and you can stand to lose..
