I purchased a Navigon 5100 Navigation System during the Holidays. I didn't open the box for 45 days but to my surprise, the unit was defective. I contacted Navigon immediately. After a few weeks, I received RMA instructions by email. I shipped the unit back with all the requested information and didn't hear back from them until the 90th day, when they claimed the unit was out of warranty and asked me to pay another $80.00 to fix it. They also kept my unit and now they want $30.00 to ship it back to me. Is this even legal?
This is a ripoff for the following reasons:
1) I shipped the unit back to them on 2/9/10 (69 days after purchase)
2) The unit came with a 1 year limited warranty (according to the card inside the box)
4) Now they claim that the warranty is for 90 days only. But it doesn't matter:
3) I have proof of delivery from UPS (received 76 days after purchased)
4) They waited until the 90th day to contact me and refuse to repair the damaged unit.
This company is unbelievable, do not buy their products. Please see similar complaints in the site.
