I ordered a x10 wireless color camera, and then I ordered an additional camera to get the receiver that I did not know I needed with the first camera order. My installer could not get reception, so I called x10 today. The customer support person asked if I have a cordless phone, and I do, so he informed me the wireless camera will not work if I have a cordless phone.
I requested a packing slip so that I might return the two cameras. Then the man said I could not return the first camera order, for the 30 day return policy had expired. The second order was placed on 9/9/03, and it takes several days to mail, etc. Why do they sell wireless cameras without informing the customer of the problem with cordless phones? I now have to keep one camera that I can't use. What a way to do business!
I spent two hours following the installation directions, and not once did the instructions mention a cordless phone interferring with installation. The owner is George Stevenson, but he does not respond to mail or phone calls (according to the customer support employee.) That leads me to believe this is a ripoff.
